Baby Ty

Ty announced the Baby Ty product line on January 4, 2000. This new line replaced the Pillow Pals. The first six Baby Ty plush animals were Bearbaby, Frogbaby, Lamybaby, Monkeybaby, Bunnybaby and Dogbaby.

The original Baby Ty products were made with a Ty patented material called Tylon. Plush products made with Tylon were designed to be soft, snuggly and safe for babies or infants to play with.

On November 1, 2001, Ty introduced four Baby Ty animals that were made with a new Ty patented material, Tyhair. Tyhair was even softer than Tylon.

Ty expanded the product line's variety in June 2004, with the introduction of blankets. The blankets had animals sewn into them.

The Baby Ty products do not have birth dates. Some of the first Baby Ty animals had swing tags with The Pillow Pals Collection printed inside the swing tag.

On January 6, 2012, Ty gave up the U.S. trademark for the Baby Ty name. Five years later, on December 28, 2016, Ty submitted a new application for the trademark. The Ty retailer catalog released at the end of December 2016 announced 12 upcoming new Baby Ty releases. The new Baby Ty plush animals started shipping to Ty retailers during the last two weeks of April 2017. They were available in regular and medium sizes.

The new versions of the Baby Ty product line are made from an extremely soft-feeling and stretchy fabric. They have embroidered eyes. The swing tag indicates they are suitable for "Age +0 and up."

In January 2018, Ty introduced three Baby Ty animals in "large" size. They were Gracie, Lullaby and Princess.
