1. Raicho (brown head) may have been produced in several different sizes. We have not been able to discover how many versions were produced and sold exclusively in Japan. They would all be labeled by Ty as "Beanie Babies." This is unusual because Ty plush items larger than the traditional Beanie Baby size are normally tagged as Beanie Buddies or Ty Classics.
2. "Raicho" is the Japanese word for (Lagopus muta) "rock ptarmigan." It is also the word for "Thunderbird/lightning." The Beanie Baby "Raicho" is a rock ptarmigan, not the mythical Thunderbird.
